Silent Auction

In these hard economic times, we are reaching out to past donors, alumni and businesses in the community for donations to our Silent Auction. This year, we provided scholarships to 20 of the orchestra’s 88 members. We hope to offer scholarships to even more members next year!

The Berkeley Youth Orchestra (BYO) provides most of its members with their first full orchestral experience, something that will stay with them forever. Many become life-long orchestral players. The musicians, ages nine to seventeen, come from all over the Bay Area, most from the East Bay but many travel from San Francisco, Fremont, Walnut Creek and Vallejo each Saturday. Under the direction of conductor Jay Lehmann, the orchestra is enjoying unprecedented respect and support in the muscial community.

On Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Laney College in Oakland, the Berkeley Youth Orchestra will celebrate its fortieth year and host a special Spring Concert and Silent Auction.

Please consider donating:

  • An item or gift certificate for our Silent Auction
  • Food or drink for the event
  • A cash sponsorship to help defray the costs of a concert ($250 per event)

If you donate to our event, your company’s name and a description of your donation will be acknowledged in our concert program. Sponsors of $250 or more will also be verbally recognized from the stage. BYO is non-sectarian, non-discriminatory, and we are a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation under IRS code.
