Part of what makes the BYO experience so special is the talented group of professional musicians whom we affectionately refer to as our Artists in Residence (AiR).
AiRs attend every rehearsal and concert to provide our musicians with coaching from within the orchestra. They also run sectional rehearsals and conduct chamber groups during the season. Quite frankly, BYO wouldn't be what it is without these talented musicians helping to shape the next generation of musicians.
Andy Butler is BYO's double bass AiR. Andy is a wonderful teacher who quickly develops a rapport with young musicians in his sections. Professionally, Andy plays with just about every major orchestra in the Bay Area including the California Symphony.
