BYO Registration and Enrollment

After a musician auditions and is accepted into the orchestra, the following steps need to be completed to both register for BYO and enroll in Laney College (part of the Peralta Community College District).

 

These steps can be done concurrently and both must be competed before the first rehearsal in order to participate in BYO. Having BYO as an official course at Laney College helps reduce tuition (by around $200/musician/season), earns musicians college credit, and enables us to both rehearse and perform in the Odell Johnson Performing Arts Center!

BYO Registration

1. Orchestra Manager emails the family a link to the registration form.

2. One parent/guardian completes the online form which includes electronic signatures for all orchestra policies.

​

3. After the form is submitted an invoice for the season tuition will be emailed to the family (this will usually occur by mid-August).

4. Family submits electronic payment prior to the first rehearsal via a link on the invoice.

Laney/Peralta Enrollment

Elementary and Middle School Students follow these steps:

1. Complete online application here (select Laney College).

2. Complete the Elementary and Middle School Special Enrollment Form (see below for course information)

Note: You must get a school Principal signature & stamp/seal on the form. Your school district office will provide these if the school office is closed.

3. Submit both forms to laneyadmissions@peralta.edu (cc: manager@byoweb.org and your student's email address) and attach a clear copy of your musician's student ID.

 

High School Students follow these steps:

 

1. Complete online application here (select Laney College).

2. Complete the High School Special Enrollment Form (see below for course information)

Note: You must get a Counselor signature on the form. Your school district office will provide a signature if the school office is closed.

3. Submit the form to laneyadmissions@peralta.edu (cc: manager@byoweb.org and your student's email address) and attach a clear copy of your musician's student ID.

 

All enrollees must include the following course information on the enrollment form. High School students must have their Counselor also sign-off in the Authorized Class Schedule section!
