Ariel Wang
Artist in Residence (Violin)
Ariel is a violinist proficient in many styles from classical to bluegrass, a composer of concert and media music for chamber ensembles to orchestra, and private teacher and ensemble coach with over 15 years experience. She began studying violin at age 9, and has a Masters in Music for Violin Performance from SF State. Her experience includes playing with Miss Lauryn Hill and the Fugees, Stockton Symphony, Chuck Prophet, Meernaa, Oakland Symphony, Kev Choice, Jazz Mafia, Bicicletas Por La Paz, Awesome Orchestra, and more. She has also arranged and recorded with several local bands including Aneesa Strings, Artemisia, Catch Prichard, and Rachel Lark. Additionally, she has taught for many years with Oakland Symphony's MUSE program as well as Acalanes and Campolindo High Schools.
