Heghine Boloyan
Artist in Residence
Heghine is a teacher and performer with 48 years of experience in the USSR and America. She has led her private studio for close to 35 years now with students graduating and attending universities such as Juilliard, Harvard, Northwestern, Rice, Cleveland, USC, Eastman, New England Conservatory, to name a few. She also taught at The Crowden School, coached Young People's Youth Orchestra and Oakland Youth Orchestra for more than 20 years each. Currently, she coaches the Berkeley Youth Orchestra and has been a vital member for over 15 years.
Above mentioned, as a prolific performer, she performed with Oakland, Marin, Napa, Sacramento, San Francisco Ballet, Fremont, Santa Rosa Symphonies. As a soloist, Heghine has performed with the Oakland Symphony, the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, and the Fremont Symphony. She was concertmistress for San Francisco Camerata Americana Chamber Orchestra and also recorded the opera "Corpus Evita" by Carlos Franzetti. Heghine has performed with the San Francisco Opera and Merola program, and has had the pleasure of performing with some of the greatest musicians in the world such as Sarah Chang, Itzhak Perlman, Emanuel Ax, Sergei Nakaryakov, and Yo-Yo Ma to name a few. Heghine graduated from the prestigious Armenian National Gomitas Conservatory of Music with a master’s degree in violin performance, chamber music performance and teaching. She’s very proud of her family and her two sons.
