Sam Wilde
Conductor and Music Director
Sam Wilde (they/she) is a music educator with a rich background of experience in music education. She has started students on violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, clarinet, trumpet, and trombone, and taught elementary, middle, and high school students in Solano and Alameda County public schools.
Sam has also worked for the Texas Tech University String Project, Lubbock Symphony Orchestra Teaching Artists Program, and the Live Music Center Orchestra in Vacaville, which they founded in 2015. They earned their Bachelor’s of Music Education from Texas Tech University and their Master’s of Music Education from Boston University. In addition to serving as BYO’s Music Director, Sam Wilde also teaches music in Berkeley Unified School District.
Sam joined BYO in 2024 and develops our music programs, directs the artistic staff, and serves as the principal conductor for our orchestras.
